ZWAZO Health Initiatives

Community health programs are essential for social impact, especially during a pandemic.

ZWAZO is all about social medicine, meaning that health care is not all about destroying diseases, but it is really about using medicine as a vehicle to make a lasting impact for socially vulnerable populations. The ideology is built on social determinants of health and sustainable development practices. But instead of focusing solely on improving health, ZWAZO is focused on improving life through health.

ZWAZO's 3 Step Approach to Health Impact

Assess Needs

There are so many needs! Our process is all about identifying the most desperate needs and deciding where we can make a real and targeted impact. We look into community health gaps, vulnerability, social factors, and mental health. Our assessment strategies aim to be holistic. Above all, we really get personal with the people we serve. We LISTEN to what they say they need.

Fill Needs

When we hone in on a need we can fill, then our focus turns to getting the job done. This is done through mobile clinics, training locals, and building community health programs. Community health workers are paramount to many of our solutions. Training these native persons to provide care and education makes a long term, sustainable impact on the health of communities.

Evaluate Impact

After the hard work of implementing a project, then comes the time to evaluate the impact. ZWAZO wants to see improvement as much as anyone else, but we also have learned to be patient, as development
takes time, effort, and love.
"Piti piti, ZWAZO fè nich".
One by one impact is done.
